Fast track RT PCR Covid-19 testing
With the surging numbers of infections of Covid 19 and Omicron and its sub-variants it is clear the virus is still very much with us, and we need to learn to live alongside it. We continue to need to work together to slow the spread of the virus, protect others who may be vulnerable, and take the pressure off our Hospitals and health systems.
The need to support our economies and establish normal patterns of living once more has seen increased levels of activity at our airports, railways, motorways etc.
There is a need for PCR testing to become more accessible, faster and more accurate, with results almost immediately available to clients.
RocDoc Covid Check are pleased to have made great strides here. We now offer the public a Fast Track RT PCR Test with results in 1 hr. for only €115. These results come with the necessary Certification for travel purposes.
While our tests are approved by the HSE and widely accepted by most international destinations, it is advised that the passenger themselves check the protocols, testing guidelines and timelines of their destination country.
The more rapid testing should be helpful in eliminating a stressful period of waiting on results before a flight. Nevertheless passengers should plan ahead and book tests to fit in with their own travel requirements and avoid any possibility of missing a departure.
RocDoc Covid Check has conveniently located testing facilities at Dublin, Cork, and Shannon , so finding testing to suit your needs should be easy.
Why PCR testing?
We know that if the virus is present in large quantities, which is usually about 12 hrs. after the start of symptoms, rapid Antigen tests are very accurate at detecting the virus.
The advantage with RT PCR tests is that they are very good at showing up the virus in the time before you get sick, so they are more reliable while you’re not showing symptoms. A PCR test is a better choice for ruling out an infection without symptoms.
We need to keep working to make our testing faster and more accurate. As we probably all know at this stage viruses mutate and we can’t predict the future with any real accuracy.
Never before has a new variant of the Coronavirus spread more quickly than the Omicron variant. Without booster vaccination the effectiveness of vaccines against it is much lower with Omicron than with earlier variants. We need to keep an eye on its sub-variants BA.1, BA.2 and BA.3
We all need to remain vigilant and RocDoc Covid Check are constantly and consistently working to improve our services to the public. Being able to offer a reliable result in just one hour is one step towards a better future for us all.
